Saugus Speedway (Open Air Market)

Originally built in 1927 as a rodeo arena, evolving into an auto racing venue from 1959 - 1995, the Saugus Speedway, Santa Clarita’s largest Special Event Venue, is still home to one of Southern California’s largest and oldest Sunday open air marketplaces (in operation since 1962). The Santa Clarita Open Air Market, also known as Saugus Swap Meet, features over 400 vendors, with thousands of value priced items, fresh baked food and snacks, as well as live entertainment from some of L.A.’s hottest bands. The Santa Clarita Open Air Market runs every Sunday from 7am – 3pm, with admission of just $1.50 per person. Also open every Tuesday (7am-1pm) is a smaller Flea Market featuring over 100 vendors specializing in collectibles and antiques. In house special events include: Home & Garden Shows, as well as the Oldies & Goodies Classic Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show.

REAL ESTATE
Sales of existing single-family homes dropped in the Santa Clarita Valley during the month of October the Southland Regional Association of Realtors® reported.

Realtors® closed escrow on 336 homes, But this is a increase over the previous year which had a total of 297 homes sold in September 2010. 

With more activity coming in the lower price ranges, the median price of the single-family homes sold slipped to $450,000.
